BUILDING IN NZ ...A DREAM COMES TRUE

Beautiful Aotearoa seemed the perfect place to build our dream two years ago but we did not know yet about the " leaky building syndrome " that had swept all over New Zealand and had resulted in tougher conditions to get a Building Consent....

Learning and understanding the New Zealand Building Code , very similar to the Australian Building Code, but so different from the European approach was our first step

Fighting to be allowed to use untreated timber , instead of the common radiata pine , was our second step.

Finding support from local engineers to back up the whole concept of Domespace was our third step

Believing in our dream and the whole concept from the beginning to the end was our motto

SO , many detailed plans and few amendments to fit in the Code later, we got our building consent from the Whangarei district Council who is now watching our construction progress with the greatest interest even if we are called " the UFO people" ......

Domespace is a sustainable eco friendly wooden house that rotates to follow the sun or ...to hide from the cold westerlies or southerlies that blow from time to time under these latitudes.

It melts in the landscape, is a real cocoon, completely insulated with eco wool ,
an organic shape for a healthy life ......

Think out of the square....live differently....in harmony with nature.
